Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do here at the BPD Society of BC and we couldn’t do it without you.

Please note that while we often prioritize applications from people with direct lived experience of BPD when recruiting for volunteer, staff, and board positions, it is not necessarily required.
Current Opportunities
BPD PEER SUPPORT FACILITATION
Type of Role: Voluntary.
Deadline: None. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
Time Commitment: 5-10hrs per month, for a minimum of 1 year.
Where: Any of our in-person locations; virtual; a new location (see below).
Time from Application to First Contact: Applicants can expect a response to their application within 1-5 business days.
If you are someone living with BPD or a loved, have time to commit to a rotating schedule, and believe you align with our mission and values, then we would love to hear from you!
We provide 4 hours of training to all new volunteers, which is split into two shorter sessions that are routinely scheduled for the second and third Saturday of the month. Each session is held via Zoom from 10:00am - 12:00pm (PST). The training sessions are followed by a short practice period with the relevant Regional Team.

Previous Opportunities
SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANTSHIP
Type of Role: Voluntary.
Deadline: None. Applications accepted on a rolling basis until position filled.
Time Commitment: 2-5hrs per week, for approx. 6 months.
Where: Not applicable.
The organization is seeking a committed and well-organized volunteer to help create and manage social media content for our Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts.
The responsibilities assigned to this role include:
Create engaging, informative, and supportive content (posts, stories, graphics).
Ensure content aligns with BPD Society of BC’s mission and values.
Send content to Board Representative for approval.
Schedule approved content for posting.
Monitor and respond to comments and messages.
Create a social media calendar that includes relevant dates that can be associated with posts (i.e. volunteer appreciation day, health literacy day, patient experience week, overdose awareness day, truth and reconciliation day, etc.).
Analyze and report on social media metrics quarterly (engagement, reach, ad costs, etc.)
While we will provide some training around BPD and the work of the organization as necessary, we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates that meet the following requirements:
Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn).
Familiarity with Canva and similar mediums.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Understanding of BPD and mental health.
Excellent time management skills.
