DBT for Adults

We offer virtual DBT Skills Groups for adults twice a year in January and July. Intakes open May 1 and November 1. Please watch this page around those dates for the link to the screening form.

  • What: 24-week Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Multi-Skills group.

  • When: Tuesday evenings, 5:30 - 7:30 pm (PST).

  • Where: Zoom Healthcare

  • Who: Adults who are 18+ and residents of BC who meet criteria for borderline personality disorder (BPD).

  • Cost: $30 per session ($720 in total).

Intake for January 2026 is now CLOSED

Intake will re-open on May 1, 2026 to begin in June, 2026.

Prospective group members can expect to be notified of their status up to one month post-completion of the appropriate screening form. However, please note that due to limited space, we are not able to accept all applicants into the group.

Intake Process

  1. Complete Our Screening Form.

    All prospective group members will be required to complete a screening form, which will assess eligibility based on the following criteria:

    a) Meet diagnostic criteria for BPD - although no formal diagnosis is required.

    b) Be a resident of British Columbia for the entirety of the 24-week program.

    c) Be under the care of a mental health professional.

    d) Be able to pay a subsidy of $30 per session ($720 in total).

    A screening form for the June 2026 Intake will show here from May 1 to 15, 2026.

  2. Attend a Virtual or Phone Assessment (~1hr).

    If eligible, you will receive an informed consent form via email for completion, after which you will be scheduled for a virtual (Zoom) or phone appointment.

    During this meeting, you can expect to review the consent form and complete a preliminary assessment to ensure that the program on offer aligns with your goals. This should last approximately 1 hour.

DBT Graduate Group

We offer virtual DBT Graduate Group for adults twice per year, in February and July. Prospective group members should fill out a screening form (see below) to express their interest in joining the group.

  • What: 16-week Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Graduate Group.

  • When: Wednesday evenings, 5:30 - 7:00 pm (PST).

  • Where: Zoom Healthcare

  • Who: Adult (18+) residents of British Columbia who have completed a previous DBT Skills Group(s). .

  • Cost: $25 per session ($400 in total).

Intake for February 2026 is currently OPEN

The next intake period will be in June to begin in July, 2026.

Prospective group members can expect to be notified of their status within the same intake period for which they have applied. However, please note that due to limited space, we are not able to accept all applicants into the group.

Intake Process

  1. Complete Our Screening Form.

    All prospective group members will be required to complete a screening form, which will assess eligibility based on the following criteria:

    a) Previous completion of all 4 modules of DBT, whether with the BPD Society of BC or another provider.

    b) Be a resident of British Columbia and at least 18 years of age.

    c) Be able to commit to 4 months of group attendance.

    d) Be able to pay a subsidy of $25 per session ($400 in total).

    e) Have not engaged in self-injurious or suicidal behaviours for at least 3 months by the intake period.

  2. Attend a Virtual or Phone Orientation (~1hr).

    If eligible, you will receive an informed consent form via email for completion, after which you will be scheduled for a virtual (Zoom) or phone appointment.

    During this meeting, you can expect to review the consent form and complete an orientation to ensure that the program on offer aligns with your goals. This should last approximately 1 hour.


DBT for Adolescents & Caregivers

We piloted a Multi-Family DBT Skills Group for Adolescents and Caregivers in January, 2025 and plans for future iterations of this group are currently on hold. However, interested prospective members may review this page periodically for any updates.

Details for the 2025 Pilot Group

  • What: 26-week Multi-Family Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills Training Group.

  • When: January - July, 2025.

  • Where: In-person - Victoria, BC.

  • Who: Adolescents (13-17 years of age) who are residents of the Capital Regional District (CRD), British Columbia and struggle with symptoms of BPD or emotion dysregulation. Although optional, we also strongly recommend two caregivers attend.

  • Cost: Free

  • Intake Period: November 1 to 15, 2024, to begin in January, 2025.

Intake for January 2025 is now CLOSED

The next intake period for this group is still to be determined (TBD).

Prospective group members can expect to be notified of their status up to one month post-completion of the appropriate screening form. However, please note that due to limited space, we are not able to accept all applicants into the group.

Intake Process

  1. Complete Our Screening Form.

    All prospective group members will be required to complete a screening form, which will assess eligibility based on the following criteria:

    a) Adolescent and caregiver(s) are residents of the CRD, and will be for the entire duration of the program.

    b) Adolescent is experiencing clinically significant symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD) or severe emotion dysregulation, although no formal diagnosis is required.

    c) Adolescent is under the care of a registered therapist, and will be for the entire duration of the program.

  2. Attend a Virtual or Phone Orientation (~1hr).

    If eligible, you will receive an informed consent form via email for completion, after which you will be scheduled for a virtual (Zoom) or phone appointment.

    During this meeting, you can expect to review the consent form and complete an orientation to ensure that the program on offer aligns with your goals. This should last approximately 1 hour.
